Oz property firm joins consumer fair

Brunei residents interested to invest in overseas can look forward to owning a property in Melbourne, the second largest city of Australia, after Harvest Realty, a well-known real estate agency in Australia appointed Bruworld as the local Brunei agent.

Vincent Djuang, Harvest Realty director, and Henry Mack, development manager, arrived in the country to participate in the Consumer Fair which kicks off today at the International Convention Centre.

In a press conference with Amy Liew of Bruworld, Mr Djuang and Mr Mack explained some of the projects currently available for Brunei residents to purchase.

“We have 10 years of experience. The government of Australia through the investment review board will not allow overseas investors (not Australia citizens) to buy established houses. Investors can only buy property brand new houses or apartments off the plan and can have the right to the property,” said Mr Mack.

“One of the largest projects is the Alexander Lombard Tower at Travancore, located just north of the CBD in the well-established suburb of Flemington. The design of the tower is by the multi-award winner Fender Katsalidis Architect, which has designed many of Melbourne’s spectacular buildings including the republic Tower and Eureka Tower. We have been allocated 75 apartments to be marketed to Brunei people.

“The apartment price tag ranges from AUS$460,000 to AUS$528,000. Interested parties only need to pay 10 per cent deposit and the rest of the payment should be paid at settlement time.”

When asked about property tax, he said, ” there are no property taxation only if you sell the property. There is a capital gain tax after selling the property.

” During the Consumer Fair, we will offer a special deal whereby the developer will pay various fees amounting to roughly AUS$15,000 in stamp duties as well as other packages. So it’s a good time to buy now.”

The tower is 25 floors and level one to seven are carparks. Buyers can choose from 28 different floor plans ranging from 50 to 81 square metre internal areas with dress circle views of the city and surrounding parkland. There are a designer sky garden, carwash facility, park and reserves, security car park, Lambard Party Shop, Flexicar services, café, convenience store and gymnasium.

Meanwhile, Harvest Realty also promoting other Australian properties: 254 ound Road, Hampton Park, unit 1-12/35-37 Belgrave Hallam Road and Lot G Hutchinson Drive Lynbrook.

Both officials from Harvest Realty disclosed that anyone who deposits AUS$5,000 will be given a return tickets for two to visit the property site and a free accommodation for three night stays.
