During a span of just 10 days, six electrical substations in Jangsak, Kilanas, Tanjong Bunut and Kg Kapok were hit by a series of cable thefts that have caused not only financial losses but also power disruptions to the areas concerned.

Electrical Services Department urged members of the public to watch out for any suspicious people around substations and to report to the Police.

A recycling business that buys copper cables said the price of such cables varies depending on their quality – Grade C is $5 per kilo, Grade B is $6.50 per kilo and Grade A is $7.50 per kilo.
